WHO?!

Once upon a time in a land called Southern California, there lived a young man named David Freleng.  If you’ve listened to the tales told by the mother of his birth, he came out talking up a storm, so it was very natural to nickname him ’Motor Mouth’.  David talked to everyone, whether they knew him or not. When he started high school, his parents were not surprised that the only class he truly loved was drama. David went to Humboldt State University of California, where he graduated with a Theatre Arts degree. After college, he went backpacking through Europe, making life long friends wherever he went. If he ran short on money, he pulled out his juggling sticks on a street corner and entertained all who passed by while they filled his hat and invited him to stop by for a spell.

David’s dream has always been to work with children, to bring the world of theatre to them in a new and exciting way. He didn’t want them to just sit and watch quietly, but to jump up and be a part of the story. Today, he brings his unique style of entertainment to both children and adults of all ages.  Armed only with an overhead projector and simple materials, David enthralls his audience, and it doesn’t matter if they are two years old or ninety-two. He also works in the corporate world.  Using shadow puppets, his quick wit and sense of humor, David takes the pain out of motivational workshops.

David is currently performing and teaching in Los Angeles, California.  The following are just a few of the places you could have seen David’s performances: Child’s Play Theatre in Tempe, Arizona, Dessert Sky Mall, the Phoenix Zoo, the botanical Gardens, and the Hilton and Four Seasons Hotels. He ran a performing arts center called ‘Space’ in Sun Valley, Idaho, and was one of the founding members of San Francisco’s ‘Fools For Hire’. He also wants you to know that he is teaching his bald spot a lesson by shaving his head, was once involved in a 347 person hokey pokey circle and his favorite color is cake.
